Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of Paused, a screen-time control app for iPhone provided by Worth A Try Co (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using Paused, you agree to these Terms.

The app

Paused helps you block distracting apps on your iPhone — on a schedule or in an on-demand Focus session — using Apple’s Screen Time (Family Controls) framework. Paused is a self-control and wellbeing tool. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition, and it is not a substitute for professional advice.

Blocking effectiveness depends on Apple’s frameworks and your iPhone’s settings; you remain responsible for granting the necessary permissions and for your own use of your device.

Subscriptions

Some features may require a paid subscription.

  • Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • You can manage or cancel your subscription, and turn off auto-renew, in your iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions at any time.
  • The price and billing period are shown in the App Store before you confirm, and any free-trial length is shown there; an unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the app, attempt to interfere with its security, reverse-engineer it except as permitted by law, or use it to violate the rights of others.

No warranty; limitation of liability

Paused is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Worth A Try Co is not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable law.

Changes

We may update these Terms; material changes will be reflected by the date above. Continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
